What is the difference between a gravity and a vertical slicer?
Gravity slicers are ideal for the cutting of practically any product, above all small to medium size cold cuts, cheese and vegetables. Vertical slicers are designed mainly for the cutting of big size, high quality products, first of all the Italian prosciutto (raw ham). Vertical slicers can also be used to cut fresh meat. In this specific function, they are equipped with a wide plate and a special meat pusher supporting the cutting phase.

How do I choose the blade diameter on my meat slicer? FTC slicing machines, both gravity and vertical, are available in different blade diameters: from 220 to 390 mm (depending on the models). The larger the diameter of the blade, the bigger the product can be to cut. The choice essentially depends on the type and size of the products you are cutting.

What kind of transmission do FTC slicers have, belt or gear? FTC slicers are available with belt or gear transmission. FTC belt transmission is functional and extremely silent. They are widely used and offer optimal performances. Gear transmission is ideal when the slicing machines work under stress.
